Le Bar sur Loup
Le Bar sur Loup stands on a rocky spur between Grasse and Vence overlooking the valley of the Loup river. In the Middle Ages it was a large fortified market town, and today remains of the defensive walls can still be seen, as well as sections of the imposing castle. When you visit Le Bar sur Loup you will be taken on a pleasant journey into the past.
Here you will find tall houses huddling against each other, steeply sloping streets and stairways.
Also not to be missed is the panoramic view of the magnificent Provençal countryside - olive trees, vines, rose bushes, bitter orange trees and jasmine.
 
Restaurant La Jarrerie
La Jarrerie traditional Provençal restaurant, dating back to 1600's the building was once a monastery, storage place for olive jars, and perfumery. It's an absolute winner, people as far away as Monaco are regular diners. Stone olde worlde interior with very high beamed ceilings, excellent food.

  Restaurant Ecoles des Filles
Ecoles des Filles gourmet restaurant, set in the old school house. The dining room is in the old class room with photos of on the wall of classes dating back to the early 1900's with the playground turned into outside terrace eating area. Recently taken over by a new chef. With only a choice of two dishes a great deal of thought and care goes into the delicious food served.

Grasse
Grasse has been a perfume town ever since the 17th century, and is today the world's perfume capital. The old town is large, old and interesting. Tiny streets wind forever between the 17th and 18th century buildings, up and down ancient steps, passing through arched tunnels and sometimes opening out onto large squares.

Gourdon is the archetype of a perched village, sitting like an eagle's nest at the end of a rocky spur, enjoying a truly exceptional panoramic view over more than 80 kilometres of coastline from Théoule sur Mer to Nice.

  Nice carnival
The Nice Carnival is the most popular winter event on the French Riviera. The city comes alive during a fortnight of festivities, with carnival processions, flower parades, prestige soirées, concerts and fireworks, attracting over a million spectators. Annually 18 February to 8 March.

  Picasso Museum (Antibes)
In 1946, while searching for a studio, Pablo Picasso came across the Chateau Grimaldi and decided to work there. He completed dozens of works which he later donated to the Museum. Built on the ramparts of Antibes it makes for a great cultural day out.
Renoir Museum (Cagnes sur Mer)
The Domaine des Collettes and its park was the last home of Auguste Renoir and now displays original paintings, as well as several sculptures.
  Matisse Museum (Nice)
This 17th century Genoese villa in Cimiez houses the artist's personal collection including his most famous canvasses, virtually all of his sculptures, drawings, gouache work and engravings.
Marineland (Antibes)
Marineland is one of the biggest sea and animal parks in the world, located in Antibes. Come and see the dolphins and killer whales perform. Watch the sharks circling overhead while you walk through glass underwater tunnels.
   
     
Fête de l’Oranger in Le Bar sur Loup
Le Bar sur Loup has a micro-climate which favours the growth of orange trees, which are used in the perfume industry. On Easter Monday, the village celebrates the orange tree with the traditional "Fête de l'Oranger".
  Fête de Jasmin Grasse
Grasse, the centre of France's perfume industry, is the birthplace of Chanel No 5. During the annual Jasminade floats, decorated with 150,000 flowers, are led through the streets and local girls, dressed in jasmine flowers, throw blooms to spectators.
Expo Rose Grasse
In the month of May a lovely event in Grasse takes place which celebrates 'The Rose'. It brings together artists and fans of roses each year, where they beautifully display their finest productions to gawping audiences !
  Nice Jazz Festival
A festive tradition in July where the visitor can walk around as he wishes from one concert to another in a park surrounded by olive trees. Outdoor concerts in exceptional surroundings, live events and very high quality jazz.
